BSGI / Gamma Gram
St. Joseph's Imaging Associates is pleased to now
offer the Dilon 6800 degree Gamma Camera. This Gamma
Camera is optimized to perform Breast-Specific Gamma
Imaging, also known as BSGI, and provide detection
of small lesions, providing a vital diagnostic adjunct
to mammography and ultrasound. BSGI is a strong
diagnostic tool especially for patients who have
dense breast tissue, lumps that can be felt but
not seen with mammography or ultrasound, implants
or breast augmentation or scarring from previous
surgeries.

St. Joseph’s Imaging, strategically
located in and around Syracuse, is continually working
on ways to enhance the services they provide patients.
What has contributed to the enormous success of
this operation? Some think it is because St. Joseph’s
Imaging, SJI, has played the role of community leader
for outpatient imaging. They were the first to purchase
a picture archival communication system, (PACS),
allowing them to send and interpret images from
multiple locations. PACS meant to you, the patient,
no more lost films, easy comparison of old images
with new ones and faster turn- around time for results.
SJI was the first to offer cardiac scoring, virtual
colonoscopy, laser vein ablation, vacuum assisted
breast biopsy and fine needle aspiration. And SJI
was the first to offer digital mammography services,
having five units available before forcing the competition
to conform just to satisfy you and your demand for
this superior breast cancer detection device. Look
to St. Joseph’s imaging, if you want to know
what is new in diagnostic medical imaging and you
will be looking at the Leader.
But
what has really made St. Joseph’s Imaging
successful is not all the specialty services they
offer, rather it is the people who drive that
well oiled machine. SJI is comprised of 23 radiologists,
physicians who after completing four years of
college and four years of medical school, spend
an additional five years in a residency program
enabling them to specialize in the interpretation
of medical images. SJI has a management team focused
on the continued improvement of customer service
and physician satisfaction. And SJI has, without
a doubt, the most loyal and supportive staff any
organization could hope for. Through the efforts
of all these people, St. Joseph’s Imaging,
